How to: Install a network client.
Solution:
Install the network card and adapter using the 'Hardware' wizard. Install the network protocol and client using the 'Network Neighborhood' 'Configuration' tabbed page.
1) Install the network card and adapter if not already installed.
2) Right-click 'Network Neighborhood'. (A pop-up menu appears.)

3) Select 'Properties'. (The 'Network' dialog box appears.)
4) Click the 'Configuration' tab. (The 'Configuration' tabbed page appears.)
5) Install the protocols used by your network:
NOTE: The protocols you are installing must also be installed on your server.
a) Click 'Add...'. (The 'Select Network Component Type' dialog box appears.)
b) Select 'Protocol'.
c) Click 'Add...'. (The 'Select Network Protocol' dialog box appears.)
d) Select the manufacturer from the 'Manufacturer' list box. (Protocols used by that manufacturer appear in the 'Network Protocols' list box.)
NOTE: For most networks, select 'Microsoft'. If you are connecting to a NetWare network, then select 'Novell' instead.
e) Select the network protocols installed on your server from the 'Network Protocols' list box.
NOTE: You can bind more than protocol to your network adapter. Select the protocols you need to access the resources on your network.

f) Click 'OK'.
g) Insert the Windows 95 or manufacturer's installation CD-ROM when prompted.
6) Install a network client:
a) Click the 'Configuration' tab. (The 'Configuration' tabbed page appears.)
b) Click 'Add...'. (The 'Select Network Component Type' dialog box appears.)
c) Select 'Client'.

d) Click 'Add...'. (The 'Select Network Client' dialog box appears.)
e) Select the network manufacturer from the 'Manufacturer' list box. (Clients used by that manufacturer appear in the 'Network Clients' list box.
NOTE: Select 'Microsoft' to install the 'Client for Microsoft Networks'. Select 'Novell' if your computer will be a NetWare client.
f) Select the client to be installed from the 'Network Clients' list box.
g) Click 'OK'. (The 'Select Network Component Type' dialog box reappears.)
h) Click 'OK'.
i) Insert the Windows 95 installation CD-ROM or diskette if prompted.
CAUTION: To prevent data loss, save all open files, and exit all applications before restarting.
j) Reboot the computer. (Windows 95 automatically detects the network at startup.)
